This coming March, I’m taking on 150km as part of a team walking for the 150 children born with neurofibromatosis (NF) in Australia each year. Unfortunately, NF1 is a disease that impacts our family all too closely, with our son being diagnosed earlier this year. While NF can be inherited, around 50% of cases occur spontaneously, with no family history at all. Tumours shouldn’t be anyone’s normal. NF1 is a complex genetic condition that causes tumours to grow on nerves throughout the body and affects more than 13,000 Australians. Step Up for NF supports the Children’s Tumour Foundation, which provides care and advocacy for everyone affected by NF. My goal is to raise $1000 to help increase awareness and support the vital work of the Children’s Tumour Foundation. Any donation, big or small is greatly appreciated.
